Since Home for Good was launched as a campaign in 2013, there has been a group of passionate people connected with Home for Good in Scotland.

Our champion network in Scotland continues to grow, so people considering fostering and adoption are being linked with people who have real and recent experience. Support groups are beginning to develop and churches are increasingly engaging with the Home for Good vision.

We value the connections we have made with all of the voluntary adoption agencies in Scotland and the growing number of Local Authorities engaging with our vision.

Scotland Lead

Duncan Shelton is the interim Scotland Lead. Based in Glasgow, he works as an actor alongside his role at Home For Good. He loves cooking but not baking (although he’s a sucker for The Great British Bake-Off - even if they didn’t have any Scots in it last year!), and he’s also a musician. His background is predominantly in fostering as both his parents and parents-in-law foster in many ways: short breaks, short-term and long-term. Duncan shares, “A wee while ago, my parents picked up the flagship book, ‘Home For Good’. Once they read the book they felt immediately called to foster young children. I decided to read the book straight after them, I would have been 16-17, not exactly the kind of reading you’d expect someone of that age to be doing but I had to know what Mum and Dad were inspired about! That book has changed the way I read the bible, the way I have planned my family with my wife and the way I see family. I have had the privilege to gain over 10 new siblings in the past 4 years, all of which hold an extremely special place in my heart. Home For Good has helped me and my wife explore what our options could look like in the future and I’m now in a position where I want to inspire others to do the same.”
