Find out how we are finding homes for children in Wales

We were delighted to welcome Neil Davies, our new Wales Lead, into the Home for Good team at the beginning of September. Neil has hit the ground running and has already connected with the work of Safe Families for Children in Wales, exploring ways in which we can work together for the good of vulnerable children and families.

This is the first time Home for Good has had a staff member leading the work in Wales – but this doesn’t mark the beginning of our work in the area. In 2019, Vineyard Cardiff and Home for Good put on an event which lead to the recruitment of 12 adopters and adoptive families in the community. Neil looks forward to building upon the work of those who have gone before him, and hopes to connect with agencies we’ve worked with in the past, as well as new contacts, as we seek to work together to find homes for children.

A note from Neil:

“I liken my role at the moment to a jigsaw puzzle. As I learn about and discover old relationships and new opportunities, it feels like we have lots of different puzzle pieces just waiting to be connected. It’s exciting to begin piecing things together, and to see a picture appear and a plan come together.

I love meeting up with people to let them know that Home for Good is here and ready to journey with them, and I have some big hopes and dreams for the next few months – including starting a prayer group, developing the role of local Champions, recruiting more foster carers and adopters and forming a strong network here in Wales.”

If you would like to get involved in the work of Home for Good in Wales then Neil would love to hear from you. Get in touch with him here.

What can I be praying for?

We would love you to stand with us in prayer as we continue to work to find a home for every child who needs one in Wales.

  • Please pray that our upcoming meetings with adoption agencies and local authorities will be a positive experience for all involved so that we can work together to find homes.
  • Pray that the church leaders’ breakfast in Llanelli in February will inspire passion in the leaders to take back to their churches.
  • Pray that our Champions will be inspired and excited, and that more will come forward as our work in Wales progresses.
  • Pray for Neil as he continues to develop our work in Wales. Pray for wisdom as he balances new doors opening with existing opportunities.
Are there any events happening soon that I can attend?
